Stevenage Haven and Churches in and

around Stevenage

History

Stevenage Haven began as an initiative of the local churches in Stevenage and this link has been maintained ever since.

Chris Foster, a local Christian, organised the first emergency winter shelter in 1992-3 with the help of 164 volunteers from churches across the town. Our emergency hostel is called  'Chris Foster House'  as a tribute to his early work.
