24 May 2005 - Grant from The Follett Trust
Trinder Jaspal, a Senior Project worker at Chris Foster House, has developed an Anger Management Course in response to the needs of some of our residents. We have now received funding from the Follett Trust to cover the running costs of two of these courses the first of which was run over two half days at the beginning of June and was well received by the residents who attended. A second course will be run later this year.
As a result of funding from the Follet Trust, Stevenage Haven is running a half day interactive training event 'Creating a Positive Future through Employment' with Philip and Dee Allen on Tuesday 19th July. Philip is keen to stress this is no ordinary training event: "Impact delivers hard core, friendly advice, examples and straight talk that clients can learn one minute and implement the next." "No trite and boring training sessions!" "Training is active and experiential."
The event is designed particularly for those people facing barriers to employment and areas covered include:
- Mastering your own motivation.
- The power of belief.
- Personal leadership in action.
Key areas of learning include:
- Why work?
- Following my passions.
- Overcoming my own personal barriers to work.
- Dealing with fear and handling change.
- Planning a career path.
Our thanks to the Follett Trust for their generosity in sponsoring these events.
