Stevenage Haven had another very successful stand at Stevenage Town Show on Sunday 11th June which for the second year running was a blazing hot day with no rain. The two Tombolas organised by Maggie and Maureen and team were extremely popular and in all the stand raised £342-37 on the day. The proceeds will be used to purchase garden furniture for Chris Foster House which is currently having a garden makeover. Once completed this will also provide a covered outside smoking area which will allow the hostel itself to become non-smoking.
Maggie and Maureen collect items all year and as the big day approaches their flat becomes more and more filled with the many crates of prizes. It is through their dedicated work all year long that we are able to raise so much money. We would like to thank Maggie and Maureen in particular and those individuals who donated prizes during the year and also the band of volunteers, staff, and residents who helped on the day to make the stand a success.
We are also most grateful to local shops and companies who donated prizes: Aroma Restaurant, Models in Motion, Sainsburys and Waitrose.
And finally we would like to thank all those who supported us by visiting our stand on the day.
