A very popular Tombola Stall was organised by a group of volunteers led by Maggie & Maureen which raised over £230 for Stevenage Haven Funds. With T shirts sales and collecting boxes from the Information Stand a total of £262.65 was raised. David Kissane, the Stevenage Borough Council Representative to our Board of Trustees, is pictured here giving out leaflets. A free competition to guess the number of referrals of homeless people Stevenage Haven was forced to turn away in 2004, mainly due to the hostel being full, was won by a guess of 500. The actual number was 501 and the winner won a sleeping bag.
Ron Cohen, Stevenage Haven Finance Officer and Company Secretary, and Margaret Foster, Vice-Chair of Trustees, were members of a band of volunteers manning the Tombola and Information stands. Ron is also modelling one of our new T-shirts.
