6 Mar 2006 - John Lewis forges new charitable links with Stevenage Haven
John Lewis Stevenage has forged new charitable links with Stevenage Haven. The branch donated £200 towards the running costs of Chris Foster House, Stevenage Haven's emergency single homeless shelter in Old Stevenage.
This is the first time Stevenage Haven has received financial support from John Lewis and staff said they are delighted.
Barbara Howard, Director of Stevenage Haven said "It's great to receive this money, it will help us a lot. It's also great for people to hear about us and learn about what we do here."
Charities Secretary Michelle Lewis said, "I'm delighted we found Stevenage Haven. I had never heard of it before but now know they're there I can help them out in the future."
