Partner Agencies

Stevenage Haven can only provide the best support for clients through effective partnership working with other agencies.  We work with a very large number and wide range of agencies and the agencies below are just a sample of the many we work with.

Stevenage Borough Council  has worked in partnership with Stevenage Haven since its inception and has provided the properties for the emergency single homeless hostels. We are grateful to Stevenage Borough Council for the provision of Chris Foster House and the considerable resources they have invested in preparing the building for our use. Their continuing commitment and support is a vital component in our provision of shelter and support to single homeless men and women.  Half of Stevenage Haven's move-on accommodation is also provided in partnership with Stevenage Borough Council.

The Living Room is an independent charity that operates a free day care structured addiction treatment programme and structured one-to-one counselling. Addictions include alcohol, illicit or prescribed drugs, gambling, eating disorders and relationships. There are specialised groups for eating disorders, 13-17 year olds and relationship addiction. Support is offered for family and friends and a creche provided.

Herts Young Homeless Group is a registered charity and limited company working on the provision for young homeless people across Hertfordshire. They run local projects around the County which give information, support and advice to young homeless people. The Hatfield project is based at Breaks Manor. HYHG has a crashpad/mediation scheme for 16/17 year olds, and also works to improve health care services for homeless people including providing dual diagnosis workers. Many volunteeing opportunities exist.

Stevenage Furniture Recycling Scheme exists to collect unwanted quality furniture and household goods. These items are then usually redistributed to Stevenage residents on low incomes. The Scheme is managed by a small team of staff and we rely heavily on the support of volunteers from the community.

Connexions is the government's support service for all 13-19 year olds in England. It aims to provide advice, support and guidance across a range of issues and smooth the path into adulthood and working life.

North Hertfordshire College's Stevenage Centre is a pioneering, state of the art centre creating an exciting environment for learners. Utilising cutting-edge technology, the centre places NHC at the forefront of teaching and learning in the 21st Century. A wide range of courses are offered.

Stevenage & North Herts Drugsline offer a free and confidential service for drug users, their families and friends providing Counselling; Information; Needle and syringe exchange; Free condoms; Auricular Acupuncture; Referral to outside agencies.

Hertfordshire County Council - Supporting People Team Team administers the Supporting People programme on behalf of the Communities & Logal Government Department CLG. Supporting People offers vulnerable people the opportunity to improve their quality of life by providing a stable environment which enables greater independence. The programme provides housing related support services to over 1.2 million vulnerable people to prevent problems that can often lead to hospitalisation, institutional care or homelessness and can help the smooth transition to independent living for those leaving an institutionalised environment.
